Lunchtime bust: Man five times over limit

IT WAS barely lunch time yesterday when an Allora man was allegedly caught behind the wheel while almost five times the legal alcohol limit.

The 47-year-old was stopped by Warwick police at 1.15pm on Yangan Rd.

He was given a roadside breath test and allegedly returned a blood alcohol concentration of 0.248%.

The man was taken to the Warwick Police station and charged with high-range drink-driving.

Acting officer in charge Shane Reid said the man would appear in Warwick Magistrates Court.

The offence carries a maximum penalty of six months jail and a $3000 fine.
