Flat out in a frenzy of pancake fun
IF there was ever a day to gorge on pancakes, it was yesterday.
About 30 people flocked to St Mark's Hall for a morning of pancake flipping, eating and even racing as they celebrated Shrove Tuesday.
St Mark's Mothers' Union president Bev Spence said she was pleased with the morning festivities.
"We've had a good response and donations for the school chaplaincy program, so we are pleased with the results," Mrs Spence said.
"It's a time for fun and fellowship in the lead-up to lent."
Reverend Barbara Diery said she had a great morning flipping pancakes and socialising.
"I enjoy the pancakes and the fellowship," Rev Diery said.
She said she attended the event every year and had been for the past 10 years.
"There are some new faces, but there's always the solid core that come," Rev Diery said.
Lent begins today.
