Man reports himself drink driving
US authorities have been left stunned after a man called 911 to report a drunk driver - himself.
Polk County Sheriff's officials in Florida have released the details of a call Michael Lester allegedly made to 911 on New Year's Eve in which he admitted he was too drunk to be behind the wheel and was "driving around trying to get pulled over actually".
"I'm too drunk, I don't know where I'm at," he continued.
In speaking to the dispatcher Lester also said he has slept only four hours in four days and had swallowed methamphetamine instead of smoking it.
The female dispatcher kept Lester, who has an extensive criminal history, on the line as she directed police officers to where he was.

She repeatedly urged him to pull over and wait for police to find him. He eventually but not as expected.
"Look, I'm parked in the middle of the road," he said
Lester refused to give the dispatcher his full name before he eventually hung up on the call. Before he did sirens could be heard wailing down the line.
According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office Facebook page Lester's criminal history included previous drink driving convictions, and other convictions for aggravated battery, drug possession and hit and run.
"Driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs is a serious crime," a post on the Facebook page read.
"Innocent people are too often injured or killed from impaired drivers. DUI is not a laughing matter.
"However ... in this particular incident, nobody was hurt, so we couldn't help but LOTO (that means we Laughed Our Tasers Off)."
