Flyhalf impresses in win against old rivals
RUGBY UNION: Flyhalf Max Hall was the best as Warwick beat Goondiwindi 18-12 on Ladies Day at Risdon Oval on Saturday.
Goondiwindi had all the play in the first 15 minutes but Warwick defended well early in the game when they spend a lot of time in their own quarter.
Warwick led 7-5 at half-time after a pushover try by No.8 Brad Johnson. Centre Josh Sharman converted.
In the second half, Warwick put the pressure on early and Sharman landed two penalties, one from 45 metres out and 10 metres from the sideline.
Second rower Darcy Meek scored the second Warwick try after Adrian Parker did a one on one strip in a tackle and Charlie Bennard took the ball 30 metres downfield and kicked infield for Meek to score.
Goondiwindi scored a late converted try with three minutes to go.
Warwick now plays USQ this Saturday at USQ.
The Warwick sevens women's team will play in a carnival in Dalby on Saturday.
