Focused kids aim of game
PARENTS across Warwick are invited to a free seminar tonight on improving children's learning capacity.
The Focused Child session will be put on by the School of Total Education and held in the school's auditorium, off Freestone Rd.
"The talk is part of the School of Total Education parent program but we have opened it up to all parents as there is a real interest in the community for this information," principal Shane Power said.
"Many parents are worried about their children's capacity to concentrate and the aim is to help parents cope with bringing up children in an increasingly pressurised society."
Topics to be covered by the guest speakers include self-esteem and the effect on children of emotions such as fear, guilt, depression and anxiety, along with health and energy.
Speakers include occupational therapist Lisa Notley and psychologists Mark Cary, Jan Gudkovs and Jan Dugan. The two Jans have co-authored a book on the subject.
Tonight's seminar will run from 6.30-7.30pm. All welcome.
