Footballers steer ride will be a highlight of Cowboys Rodeo
RODEO: Six events will be on the program for the Warwick Cowboys Rodeo on October 7.
The Friday night rodeo will have a footballers steer ride, which is open to members of all clubs from all codes.
Rodeo committee chairman Don Browne said three of the Cowboys' A-graders expected to compete were Jaime Abbas, Brook Croft and Morgan Taylor.
"I reckon Brook Croft is a good chance but they will have to watch out for Mick Brackin, who has ridden bulls down the years,” Browne said.
The winner of the footballers event will secure a trophy but no prizemoney.
There is $400 prizemoney for the local steer ride.
Other events on the program are the open bull ride, junior steer and poddy rides, the bareback pony and peewee poddy ride.
