Warwick hairdresser takes style by Storm
The Clare's Hair Together and True Beauty senior stylist is part of an elite group of hairdressers putting their skills to the test on the national stage.
For the past two years Ms Lahiff has been a member of the National Creative Team for DeLorenzo, using her talents to mentor stylists from across Australia.
As part of her work, the talented artist gave a demonstration at last month's ASPYA conference in Fiji.
Ms Lahiff created an avant-garde piece with an Island Beauty theme.
"I took that theme to underneath the sea, inspired by corals," she said.
"There always has to be a story behind our work."
Months of preparation goes into planning before taking the stage, from colouring extensions to building headpieces out of foam and plaster.
"I was pretty excited to be on stage with my mentor Richard Kownacki - he always taught me to prepare everything in advance," Ms Lahiff said.
"The idea of the demonstration was to inspire fellow stylists - give them ideas they can run with."
Ever since she was a young girl, Ms Lahiff has had a flair for the arts.
"I came from an artistic family," she said.
"My mum was always painting, sewing or sculpting and I would sit and watch her.
"I see hair as a canvas - a different medium I can work with."
The creative stylist joined the Clare's Hair Together team seven years ago.
Salon owner Clare Jeffries said Ms Lahiff was a tremendous asset.
"She's incredibly talented and creative. She's an inspiration to all the younger girls as one of senior stylists - she's a great mentor," she said.
