FOURTH TIME LUCKY: Family and fashion at Killarney Cup
IT WAS a calm and sunny afternoon for the fourth attempt at the Killarney Cup in Warwick this year, after the track at Allman Park was rained out in the months prior.
Punters of all ages gathered at Allman Park to mingle over a drink and watch the Arabian horses compete for the cup.
The award for best dressed was hotly contested with six-time winners Matthew and Taryn Turl impressing in Marjorie Banks millinery and a Peter Jackson suit.
"You've got to dress sharp!” Mr Turl said.
The couple were up against Amy Fairbairn, who had been encouraged to enter by grandmother Dorothy Black.
"I'm not even sure where my hat is from,” she said.
"To be honest I stole it from my roommate!”
