France creates Olympic history
FRANCE has become the first country to to retain the Olympic men's handball title after defeating Sweden 22-21 at the London Olympics.
The reigning world champions had to survive a second half comeback from the Swedes, but after a titanic battle, became one of the world's greatest teams by the narrowest of margins.
France took a 10-8 lead into halftime, but the Swedes took the second, but unfortunately for the Scandinavians, a 13 goal haul in the second half was not enough to prevent defeat.
Croatia beat Hungary 33-26 for the bronze medal.
