Free family Christmas farm fun on the Southern Downs

WITH a menagerie of cute cuddly baby farm animals, as well a chance to meet Santa, the Granite Belt Christmas Farm Family Fun Day is shaping up to be a perfect way to spend a Saturday morning with the kids.

The fun day will run today from 9am to 1pm at the farm, which is situated a short drive down the highway at 321 Aerodrome Rd, Applethorpe.

Owner Katrina Fraser said Christmas was coming all at once to Granite Belt Christmas Farm.

"We've got 24 gorgeous baby ducklings, and we had a new baby donkey born on Monday with another due any day.” she said.

"We also have four reindeer, including our brand new arrival Winter Rain.”

Mrs Fraser said they also had a Shetland pony, two baby calves, three lambs and goats for children to feed and pat.

"The local rural fire brigade will be here with their fire truck,” she said.

"We've got Sand Wizard craft, a colouring in competition and kids can get their photo taken with Santa.”

The family fun day is free to attend.
