Free first night of rodeo this year

THE Warwick Rodeo APRA Nationals Finals will start on the Wednesday night for the first time.

In the past three years, Warwick has hosted the Australian Professional Rodeo Association National Finals.

The finals will be over four rounds on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. In past years, the rodeo finals have started on the Thursday.

Warwick Show and Rodeo Society president Gerard O'Leary said there would be free admission to the rodeo on Wednesday night, October 24.

"Patrons can watch the top 15 in each APRA event for free on the Wednesday,” he said.

The eight championship events will be saddle bronc, bull ride, bareback ride, rope and tie, steer wrestling, team roping, ladies barrel race and breakaway roping.

The national finals will finish on the Saturday night but patrons can watch some of the up and coming riders and the Warwick Gold Cup final on the Sunday of the rodeo.
