Freestone students remember Anzac spirit

FREESTONE State School held its ANZAC Ceremony on Friday, April 22.

Guest speaker Alwyn Cutmore joined parents, grandparents and students in marking this important occasion.

Mr Cutmore told the students about a set of medals he had come across at a garage sale and his search for the family of the soldier they belonged to.

It was poignant that the students had just sung In Flanders Fields as the soldier in question had died there.

After the ceremony the school community gathered to share afternoon tea.
