Fresh venue adds to seasonal market success in Warwick
WITHIN an hour of opening, the Seasonal Feast Markets had just about sold out of bread and pastries.
For most market organisers it would be something to panic about.
But for the Seasonal Feast team, it was an exciting way to welcome their markets to their fresh venue.
On Saturday the markets made their Warwick Art Gallery debut.
Food Networks facilitator Amy Walker said the new venue worked well for the markets.
“We really want to build it into a community spot,” she said.
“Mums can make it a spot to meet for a coffee and do a bit of shopping while the kids enjoy activities in the gallery.”
By lunchtime, Saturday’s market was down to less than a quarter of produce remaining, with buyers relishing in the freshest Southern Downs farmers had to offer.
Apples, broccoli and sweet potatoes were among the popular buys.
The markets will now be held on third Saturday of each month, and interest is building in the next event.
“We’ve got a lot more stalls booked for the next market,” Mrs Walker said.
“All of the produce sold is all sourced from the Southern Queensland Country region.”
The next Seasonal Feast Markets will be held on June 18 from 8am to noon.
