Friends are the real spice of life
EVERYONE needs firecracker friends in their life.
When you're down, they lift you up. When you're not sure, they convince you otherwise. When you're hungry, they feed you and when the world is just mean, they are kind.
And I have to say, I am beyond blessed when it comes to counting the gorgeous beings in my life.
Two such ladies I hold dear are Felicity Philp and Kate Owen, the go-getters behind local food brands, Friendship Food and Salt of Life.
A bumper year is nearing its end for the pair, which saw the release of a new range of sorghum products into the Friendship Food family, a streamlining of their gourmet salt line and last but not least, securing Brisbane-based business, Fitness Products, as an exclusive distributor.
Such an endorsement heralds an exciting future for Felicity and Kate and their Friendship Food brand.
"We are optimistic that 2017 will bring great things,” Felicity said.
"A greater customer reach, the release of more premixes and continuing to work closely with all of our stockists old, and new, will be our focus.”
Thanks to customer demand, the girls have pedalled a little faster towards their goals and will introduce organic, and Queensland grown, sorghum flour into their products.
"We had always planned to use organic flour, and now that it's readily available, we can meet customer demand by including this in our range,” Felicity said.
"Better yet, it also gives us an opportunity to support regional farmers and producers.”
The notions of supporting and sharing are the heart and soul of both ladies, so it makes sense these qualities have translated across to their business.
"Kate and I really wanted to develop a range of products for everyone seeking a healthy diet and lifestyle,” Felicity said.
"We hope our products help people enhance the flavours of seasonal, regional produce.”
So of course, you'll find Felicity with a full range of Friendship Food and SOL products at this Saturday's Warwick Seasonal Feast Markets selling loaves of sorghum bread and plenty of sweet treats for Christmas.
And if you can't get to the markets local stockists are Allora Butchery, Cafe Jacqui's, Trinity of Health, Go Vita, Ballandean Estate and The Cottage Drapery.
