Frosts make a return as forecasts stay chilled
MORE frosts and cold mornings are forecast early this week despite warmer weather yesterday.
Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Gordon Banks said there was a complicated weather pattern in play.
"We have a big high over Tasmania, a deep trough down the New South Wales Central Coast and another trough over South-west Queensland attached to a low near Adelaide," Mr Banks said.
"Essentially it means a lot of rain on the New South Wales east coast associated with the trough."
For Queensland, the week will start with fine and clear conditions over most of the state.
"There will be some isolated showers about the south-east coast and the north tropical coast," Mr Banks said.
The next three or four mornings will see extensive areas of morning frost across the southern interior.
As well as morning frosts, winds will be light and variable but strengthening later in the week.
Overnight temperatures will start to warm mid-week when drizzle and isolated showers are forecast for the southern half of the Darling Downs and Granite Belt from Tuesday onwards.
