Daily News fuels holiday fun for family

WINNER of the Warwick Daily News fuel voucher Julie-Ann Kawano can now plan a few extra adventures for her family during these school holidays.

Mrs Kawano received the call on Wednesday to say she had scored the $1000 fuel gift card, after she filled out the entry form on our website.

She immediately rang her husband in shock.

"I called him a few times until he called me back," she said.

The mother of three would usually spend up to $200 on fuel a week.

The family live in Allora and her husband Jumpei will often drive 90 minutes to and from work each day.

"My husband works at Highfields on the other side of Toowoomba."

Mrs Kawano said planning a budget for the week would often feel like a dreadful cycle of earning money to pay for the fuel, which gets her husband to work.

"This gives us a little bit of extra money for groceries and bills each week," she said.

"It also gives us a chance to take a few little trips while the kids are on school holidays."

Mrs Kawano studies human services at USQ Toowoomba and is also a full-time mum.

Her three boys Miles, 10, William, six, and Grant, five, were looking forward to a trip to Stanthorpe the family had planned for the weekend.

"Maybe one weekend we'll go fishing at the coast," she said.
