Fun day in the mist for country country runners at Killarney
CROSS COUNTRY: Two sets of siblings won races in the Southern Downs 10-12 years and Border 13-19 years cross country at Killarney yesterday.
The Murray sisters, Denika (Glennie Heights State School) and older sister Kiah (Assumption) each won age group races as did the Carey siblings, Ben (St Mary's) and Meghan (Assumption).
Killarney State School PE teacher Louise Rolfe co-ordinated the cross country for the first
time.
"I had a lot of help from Roy Nott from Allora and many teachers. There was mist in the air but that is better for runners than a hot day.”
The top-five in 10-12 years yesterday will compete at the regionals on May 23 while schools will select 13-19 years starters.
