Fun doubles for twins at Downs school
IF YOU did a double-take as this pint-sized dynamic duo walked past, you wouldn't be alone.
Five-year-old twins Lawson and Rory Turner started their schooling journey just a fortnight ago, beginning Prep at Wheatvale State School.
Like most students, the twins love their time outside, whether it is playing a game of handball or making inroads on the monkey bars.
Father Bryce said his boys were enjoying the start to school.
"They absolutely love it," he said.
"They love playing outside, but they also get stuck in and do their work as well.
"The school is a pretty laidback environment for them, and is a good school. We live just across the road.
"There'll be another little boy coming through in a few years."
Rory and Lawson were born just minutes apart, and Bryce said it was a joyous occasion when he found out twins were on the way.
"We were ecstatic when we knew we would have the boys," he said.
While they technically aren't identical, the twins managed to stump their teacher during the opening week of school.
"At first I got them confused," said teacher Georgia Venables. "They were able to correct me though."
"They wear different shoes. Lawson wears velcro and Rory has laces.
"Now I can see their mannerisms, and it's easy to tell them apart.
"It's my first time teaching twins, and they are so cute.
"There are a few other sets of siblings in the school, but no other twins."
Miss Venables said the pair were adjusting to school life with ease.
"They're not clinging to each other and are both making their own friends," she said.
Another set of twins with a thirst for adventure are Enid Blyton's Twins at St Clare's.
