Kids out and about for the school holidays

THE school holidays were in full swing across the Rose City yesterday as kids took to the gym and WIRAC to keep themselves entertained.

While WIRAC remained busy, the staff at Voyage Fitness opened their doors to school-age kids as part of National Youth Week celebrations.

Voyage Fitness club manager Jaron Cumerford said the fun continued right through the school holidays.

"We figured we would let the school kids come and train for free," he said.

"I think it's pretty cool."

At least a dozen young people took advantage of the free training and a $5 gym pass offered as part of National Youth Week celebrations yesterday.

"Our aim is to make Warwick fitter and healthier," Mr Cumerford said.

"We'll be running the free training each school holidays this year."

National Youth Week celebrations continue with pilates and yoga classes in the Warwick Youth Space from 9.15-10.30am today.

There will also be laser skirmish at Warwick High School tomorrow night and a skating workshop in Goondiwindi on Friday.
