Fundraiser a success
WARWICK Thistle Pipe Band members and supporters landed at the Warwick Twin Cinema for the Zoolander 2 fundraiser on Thursday night.
Marketing manager Michael Reed said the night was well attended.
"We had about 80-90 people attend," he said.
"It was a great social evening supporting the band's fundraising efforts.
"We had a raffle going as well, and some good food and wine."
For $15 per person, guests enjoyed wine, nibbles and the movie.
"I would like to thank the efforts of the girls in the club that put it all together," Mr Reed said.
"I would also like to thank all the people who attended."
Mr Reed said the fundraiser was part of the band's ongoing efforts to support the growth and longevity of the band.
"We are coming up to 100 years, so in partnership with the Southern Downs Regional Council, we have Project 100 which has an emphasis on new membership and sponsorship," he said.
With the recent sponsorship by McDonald's licensee Trevor Burton, Mr Reed said they were hoping more business would jump on board.
"We are looking for businesses to sponsors us as well as our members continuing their fundraising efforts such as raffles and movie nights," he said.
