A SHOPPING heaven for pet owners has just opened at Rose City Shoppingworld.

Pets Domain joined the latest surge of new stores opening their doors with its grand opening today.

The store is full of all the essential items needed for pet care, including food, bedding, toys and healthcare products.

Pets Domain manager Coral Sommers said the store could also assist with special requests.

"If we don't have it, we'll try to source it,” she said.

Live fish and birds will also be sold through the store, but Ms Sommers said she hopes to also help other types of pets struggling to find a home through local rescue shelters.

"We hope we'll have adoption days where they'll come in with the cats and dogs,” she said.

Ms Sommers said the store was busy from the moment the doors opened at 9am.

"Everyone's really happy. They're saying they used to go to Toowoomba to get all this,” she said.

"They're happy we're local and have what they need.”

Warwick shopper and pet owner Fearn Reynolds was one of the first to take a look around the new Pets Domain.

She was in the market for some new accessories for her fish tank as well as some treats for her miniature poodle, Jax.

"He's a bit fussy so hopefully we can find some things he likes and try some new brands,” she said.

Fearn recently relocated her fish to a smaller tank and needed to make it more homely.

"They don't have many of those things in other stores and they don't have as much of a range,” she said.

"It's a great little store with all those bits and pieces for your pets.”

Pets Domain opened with great specials including 40% off Frontline, 40% off HeartGard, 40% off NexGard and 30% off Advance Adult Large Breed Dog Food.

Shoppers can also become members for free and receive various discounts on other products, including dog food.

The store will be open 9am-5.30pm Monday to Friday.

Ms Sommers said it would also be open on Saturdays and Sundays but the hours were yet to be confirmed.
