JESTER Hill Wines was the place to be for New Year's Day celebrations on Sunday.

Ann Bourke from Jester Hill Wines said the Granite Rockin' Blues event was a success.

"We had about 130 people there,” Ms Bourke said.

"It was very good.”

She said the weather was ideal for the day, too.

"A week before we were looking at 36C but we ended up having much nicer temperatures,' she said.

This was the second year the winery had held the January 1 event, which featured acts like Powersupply, Cole Train and Jon Hibbins Trio.

As well as lots of fun, the day was also a fundraiser for Shannon Bourke's Showgirl efforts.

Ms Bourke said they raised $1500, a result they were thrilled with.
