THE most successful drag racers are the ones that don't take themselves too seriously, according to Road Trip sponsors Glenn and Jill Parsons.

"You can bring your grandmother's Corolla out if you want, so long as its roadworthy!” Jill said.

"And if you break anything, just go grab a beer.”

The second leg of the Road Trip rolled into Morgan Park today, with each of the 64 competitors bringing a slab of water to donate to the drought-stricken Warwick community.

Morgan Park dragway is a favourite among the drivers, who describe it as perfectly set up for a social afternoon.

Twice as many spectators turned out to watch this year, according to Jill.

"There's lot of families here to watch which is great,” she said.

"It's an opportunity for a fun and legal time!”

Further down the track proud dad Robert Armstrong helped prepare his daughters, Ella and Mia, for their race.

It was Mia's first time racing in her mum's BMW and Robert admitted she was nervous.

"But she'll be great!” he said.
