Games shooter wins in Warwick in pistol event

SHOOTING: Past Commonwealth Games representative Bruce Favell drove from Glen Innes to win two events at the Warwick Pistol Club February Shoot.

Sixty shooters competed in three days of competition last weekend at the club's Rosehill Range.

Favell only competed on Sunday and won the 25m standard pistol and 10m air pistol.

Warwick shooter Bob Campbell won the 25m centre fire event, finished second in three service pistol matches on Friday and was third in 10m air pistol in C-grade.

The Warwick scooped the pool in C-grade air pistol with Andy King winning from Peter Weber and Campbell.

Warwick member Chris Mathiou won the South West Regional Championship in the WA 1500 revolver class.

The second major club shoot will be the Rose and Rodeo Shoot on October 5-7 which is expected to attract 80 shooters.

The club holds a 10m air pistol competition at 7pm tonight and will have a .22 match from 9am Sunday. Information from Campbell on 0409894206.
