Garage sale with a bang

A CASINO man's weekend garage sale was interrupted by the police on Saturday after they learned he was trying to sell an unexploded hand grenade dating back to World War I.

Police from the Richmond Local Area Command have reported officers went to the home on Saturday morning after hearing the man was trying to sell a grenade.

They found the grenade alright, sitting on a bench with a sign offering it up for $50.

The man told police the grenade was brought back with him after fighting in the war.

Unsurprisingly, the man missed out on his $50. The officers (very carefully) seized the grenade and called in the bomb squad to deal with it.
