Gas leak at servo a day after hold-up
ALL power was turned off at the United Service Station in Wallace St at 2pm Friday after a steel box containing two 160kg gas cylinders was struck by a garbage truck extender arm.
A Warwick police spokesman said: "The driver reversed and pulled the cylinders and steel box away from the wall before moving the truck a safe distance away and calling 000".
"Gas was leaking and all power was turned off at the site."
Warwick police remained on the scene until the leak was stopped.
Two units from the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service went to the site, made the area safe and monitored gas levels in the area.
The fire units were on the scene for 47 minutes.
A day earlier, there had been an armed robbery at the service station with cash and cigarettes allegedly stolen.
Police are still seeking information on the armed robbery and would appreciate information to Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.
