Geitz set to start in semi

LAURA Geitz could be the starting goalkeeper in the Commonwealth Games netball semi final against England at 6.30pm (Queensland time) today after playing in the final quarter in a 62-34 victory against Trinidad and Tobago in the final round game in Delhi on Sunday night.

After leading 42-27, the Diamonds won the final quarter 20-7 with a combination of captain Sharelle McMahon at goal shooter alongside Natalie Medhurst, Kim Green at wing attack beside Natalie von Bertouch and Renae Hallinan, and Mo’onia Gerrard and Geitz in defence.

Other reports yesterday suggested the make-up of the side for the final term appeared to be a pointer to what Australia’s starting team would be for the semi-final.
