Get all the girls together for a night in

ONE woman in south-west Queensland is diagnosed with breast or gynaecological cancer every day.

And tragically, at least one woman in south-west Queensland will die every week from one of these cancers.

It's time to fight back.

This October we're giving hope to all women affected by cancer by taking action and bringing health to the forefront of every conversation, and we need your help.

Get the girls together for a Cancer Council Girls' Night In to show your support for women with cancer, raise awareness, and get talking about how you can reduce your risks.

We all have the power to make a difference, supporting our mothers, sisters, aunties, and girlfriends to beat cancer.

Hosting a Girls' Night In is easy - just get your friends together for a night in and donate what you would normally spend on a night out.

Funds raised will go towards supporting women and continuing our lifesaving research to eliminate women's cancers in south-west Queensland.

Whether you hold a pink-themed party, invite your girlfriends around for a movie night, or enjoy high tea - it all makes a difference.

Girls' Night In is a great way to connect with the women in your life to prove that good health can be good fun.

It's an occasion to promote health and happiness and support other women currently battling breast or gynaecological cancers.

One in eight Queensland women will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime and 1 in 21 will be diagnosed with gynaecological cancer.

You can get the girls together to help them beat it.

To help detect breast cancer early, it's imperative for women aged 50-74 to have a mammography every two years.

All women should be breast aware by checking their breasts regularly. It's critically important that women who notice changes in their breasts see their doctor immediately.

If breast cancer is found and treated early, there is increased chance of surviving the disease.

All women aged 18 to 70 years who have ever been sexually active should also take part in pap smear testing every two years.

Please, get the girls together and fight back against women's cancers.
