Get set to sign on Warwick Cowboys for 2015
IT'S just four days until the Warwick Cowboys hold their sign-on evening for 2015 and club president Mary-anne Loudon is looking forward to a good turnout of prospective players.
Those interested need to head down to Father Ranger Oval from 5.30pm on Tuesday next week to claim their registration packs for this year's season, with training on that night.
Loudon said she and the club were hopeful of even greater player numbers this year.
"All of the coaches and a number of senior players from 2014 will be there on Tuesday to answer any and all questions - from under 18s to Reserve Grade and A-Grade," she said.
"It's always hard to gauge final numbers but we are feeling confident this is going to be a good year, at this stage numbers are looking very strong.
"Those who come down to sign on will receive an information pack and those players aged 17 need to remember to bring one of their parents along with them.
"We're putting out the call and we're looking forward to meeting the players and families who are going to be part of the Warwick Cowboys this year."
Registration forms and fees should be returned as promptly as possible so the Cowboys can finalise team line-ups.
A full draw for the 2015 Toowoomba Rugby League has now been finalised and the Cowboys will take on Brothers at home in their first clash, set down for the night of Saturday March 14 - so mark that date in your diaries now.
This will follow the first home trial game against the Aspley Devils on the night of Saturday February 14 and the second home trial Barrett Shield game the following week, on the night of Saturday February 21.
Cowboys captain-coach Matt Gainey said in December he expected Brothers to be stronger this year, particularly with the addition of the Loxley brothers from Souths.
"It's always good to start the season at home," he said.
"We enjoy playing at home and we believe we've got the best supporters in the TRL so we're excited to have round one at home."
Gainey said the Cowboys were excited they would not have to wait long to meet fierce rivals, and defending champions, Wattles.
