'Dramatic scenes': Woman had a hand in hotel lockdown, police say

THE man who allegedly caused The Criterion Hotel to go in to lockdown last month did not act alone, a court has heard.

Dean Stephen Harreman and Terri-Ann McPherson are both charged with affray over the dramatic scenes on June 15 this year.

Harreman, 30, is currently in police custody and 36-year-old McPherson appeared in Warwick Magistrates Court yesterday.

The court heard that on the night of the lockdown, a sober Harreman allegedly took off his shirt while in the Warwick pub and began screaming and punching his hand into the air.

Police will allege McPherson and two others left just after 7pm and stopped a car on Palmerin St, banging on its window and yelling, "where is he?".

McPherson is accused of encouraging Harreman by yelling "get the gun out of the car" and "there's a bullet coming your way".

Harreman and McPherson were pulled over by police in Palmerin St a short time later.

The court this week heard police found Harreman sober, while McPherson was, "grossly intoxicated".

Both Harreman and McPherson had their cases moved to separate hearing dates.

McPherson is due to appear in Warwick Magistrate Court on September 12.

Harreman's matter has been moved to Southport Magistrates Court and is due to be mentioned again next Friday.
