Gift-wrapper shares secrets to tackling Christmas presents
WRAPPING Christmas presents is never as easy as it sounds; it does not take much to tear the paper and tangle the ribbon.
But with advice from Bryson's Place owner Lynn Bryson and employee and long-time gift-wrapper Betty Twidale there is no excuse for a poorly wrapped present this year.
- Step 1: Remove all tags and labels.
- Step 2: Wrap the box in tissue paper.
- Step 3: Fold sides up to the middle of the box and tape together on the bottom of the present.
- Step 4: Pleat the corners at the end of the present.
- Step 5: Make sure the corners are neat and tidy.
- Step 6: Repeat the process on the opposite end.
- Step 7: Grab a length of paper of a matching colour a few inches wide (this is called a belly-band) and tape one end to the bottom of the present.
- Step 8: Wrap the belly-band around the present and tape the other end to the bottom of the present.
- Step 9: Wrap a ribbon around the belly-band, tie a tight knot on the top of the present, tie like a shoe lace.
- Step 10: Attach a Christmas decoration to make it extra special.
