Girl Guide bikkies are back
THE wait is finally over - Girl Guides Biscuits are back.
The annual family favourite treats will be on sale at Rose City Shoppingworld on Saturday and guide leader Mindi Devine said she hoped Warwick would turn out to support the local guide group.
"We'll be set up at the bottom of the travelator between 8am-3pm, so come and see us," she said.
"The bikkies are from an Australian supplier this year and we've still got the fabulous traditional bikkies, but this year we're also selling three new types; triple choc, bush babies, which are in lunch box-sized packets, and gluten-gree shortbread.
"It's the first time we've had a gluten-free choice as well."
Miss Devine said the annual exercise raised much needed funds for the Warwick Girl Guides, which will go toward providing activities for the girls and maintaining the guide facilities.
"The girl guides are aged between seven and 15 and we'd love to see more join, we've only got 40 members this year," she said.
"We run camps, hold cooking activities, play lots of games and try to do a lot of community-based work when we can.
"Last term we visited with the residents at the Oaks, which was a nice day for all and we've done a few drought-relief fundraisers as well.
"Coming up next weekend, we're off on an Amazing Race camp, where we'll all be participating in the Pentathrun.
"All the support we can get will really help so get down to Rose City Shoppingworld on Saturday and show your support."
The bikkies will also be on sale at ihear and Just Because.
