Trail ride success

THE population of Killarney swelled from 1000 to an estimated 5000 over the weekend as people flocked to the town for the annual Border Ranges Trail Bike Ride.

The event saw more than 2000 entrants take part on over 74km of track.

The Killarney showgrounds and recreation grounds were overflowing with campers for the weekend but police reported only one offence, which related to the wilful damage of the bullock display at the Killarney Heritage Centre.

A statement from local police thanked the volunteers and participants for their behaviour.
