Warwick girls shave heads for a cure

TWO brave Year 6 students from Warwick Central State School had their lovely long locks lopped off this morning for a wonderful cause.

Felicity Novley and Bonnie Brown, both 11, are donating their hair to Wigs For Kids and all the money raised is going towards cancer and leukaemia research.

Wigs For Kids use donated hair to produce wigs for children who have lost their own hair due to radiation and chemotherapy, burns and other medical conditions.

The whole school was on hand to cheer along and clap as the girls went under the clippers for the cause.

Felicity said afterwards that she was so happy to have done something like this for kids who are suffering.

The girls raised their own donations for the shave as well as putting on a gold coin donation sausage sizzle and hair painting for the rest of the school.
