Support group helps women deal with the loss of an infant

BEARS of Hope Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support is a not-for-profit organisation that provides support for families who experience the loss of a baby.

It donates support packages throughout Australian hospitals (including a bear of hope and invaluable literature) to comfort, support, inform, guide and empower parents through their grief.

For Susan Wratten, the organisation was of huge help after she lost her baby girl.

"This organisation has given me helpful links where I can go and talk to other parents like me who understand and know what we are going through," she said.

"This has been the most traumatic thing I have ever had to go through.

"I still to this day find it hard to believe it has actually happened to us.

"So now that I have gone through our story, I am aiming to raise money for (the organisation) and I welcome any contribution, great or small, that you could make."

For every $45 the Wratten family raises, a Bears of Hope support package will be donated to another family in memory of their baby Chelsea.

The family has already raised more than $1000 for the organisation.
