Glad to be back at local paper
NICK Inmon is a well-known face and name around Warwick and after a short stint working away he is back in the Warwick Daily News office- this time as the general manager.
Mr Inmon previously worked as the Daily News media advertising manager for two years.
"I have spent the past two years travelling across Queensland, Northern territory and northern NSW as general manager of the rural weekly and have had the pleasure of launching new papers and meeting some fantastic people across a broad spectrum of industries," Mr Inmon said.
"I've been lucky to see some of the best-practice operations in print media from across all the APN network and the regions I have covered and hope to bring some of those learnings back to our local publications."
Mr Inmon is replacing former general manager Bruce Partridge who has moved farther north to do some management work with APN in Bundaberg before retiring.
"Warwick people can be confident that the Warwick Daily News is here for the long haul, after 150 years the business is now in good shape," Mr Partridge said.
"When I came here three years ago the town was full of rumours that APN was going to cut back services here.
"That is not the case, in fact the business is in a stronger position now and with the introduction of the newspaper printing here, APN will be a major employer in Warwick."
Mr Inmon said he was glad to be working back in the Rose City.
"It is fantastic to be back at the local paper in the town that my family and I call home," he said.
Being at the helm of the Daily News is a challenge Mr Inmon is looking forward to tackling.
"It's the perfect time to come back to the Southern Downs with a suite of publications including the Warwick Daily News, Stanthorpe Border Post, The Weekly and Lifestyle in a perfect position to grow and continue to be the market leader in the area," he said. "Our print operations in Kenilworth St are undergoing some rapid growth and I look forward to working with Allan Ruhle (Warwick print site manager) and the team.
"The investment from APN in the Southern Downs, once complete, will grow our standing as an important economic driver in Warwick."
As a keen sportsman, Mr Inmon said he looked forward to rejoining the Warwick Turf Club and helping out our local rugby league teams. Phone Mr Inmon on 4660 1302.
