Golden opportunity for buyers to bid up big for drought aid
CAMPDRAFTERS at this year's Warwick Rodeo will be given a golden opportunity to buy Cup-winning bloodlines - and raise money for drought-affected farmers in Longreach.
A gelding with some of the country's top performance horse bloodlines will be auctioned at this year's rodeo, with the proceeds going to the Community Disaster Relief Van's Outback Drought Relief Fund.
Donated by Ian Olsen, the year-old bay gelding is a grandson of Acres Destiny - Australia's top producer of performance horses and the sire of many major Warwick campdraft event winners.
Mr Olsen said the gelding had bloodlines back to Peppy Doc Bar and Scrumlo Victory.
"He's got a great combination of bloodlines," he said.
"He's eligible to be dual registered as both an Australian Stock Horse and Quarter Horse."
The CDRV organisation thanked Mr Olsen for his donation, which will add to the tens of thousands of dollars already raised for their Outback Drought Relief Fund.
Two vouchers for a pair of ARIAT high performance boots have also been donated to the auction by ARIAT and Just Country Australia.
The auction will take place on Friday, October 23 at 6pm - just before the State Challenge Campdraft.
McDougall and Sons auctioneer David "Skip" McIvor has kindly donated his time to auction the goods.
The CDRV is are looking for more businesses to donate items to be auctioned off at the rodeo.
