Golf club joins in the spirit of Jumpers and Jazz

GOLF: The women of the Warwick Golf Club have decorated a tree outside the clubhouse as a forerunner to Saturday's Jumpers and Jazz in July open medley stableford.

The event will be sponsored by women's president Judy Lester and her husband, club vice president and greens' chairman Bob Lester.

Judy said members and visitors heading to the club on Saturday could aim to win the prize for best dressed golf buggy or golf cart.

"Joy Bowles won the best dressed golf buggy last year and Judy Stiff won the prize for the best cart,” Judy said.

"We are hoping to attract 60 players on Saturday but realise there is a lot on at this time.

"The open medley stableford is a great chance for the Warwick Golf Club to join in the excitement of Jumpers and Jazz in July.

There will be prizes for the best men and women in the stableford on the day.

Visitors in town for Jumpers and Jazz in July are welcome to play in the competition.

"We ask Warwick area residents who are welcoming visitors at the weekend to tell family and friends about our special golf day,” Judy said.

Players can book in through the pro shop on 46613664.

Spots on the time sheet available from early morning to 1pm.

Open days

THE Warwick Golf Club open weekend will be held on August 19-20 and the women's open day on September 5.

The first major golf event in August will be the mixed foursomes on August 6.

Teams of one man and one woman for August 6 can be nominated on the time sheet at the pro shop at the club.

The foursomes is an honour board event.
