Golf in full swing

WITH the region enjoying brilliant weather these past few weeks, the Warwick Golf Course has been humming with players throughout the silly season.

Seasoned players Alex McKinlay, Bob Lester and John Porter were among those having a social hit on the green, though they said the wind was hampering their drives.

"We didn't come here just because of the good weather though, we're here every Wednesday," Mr McKinlay said.

All are invited to try their hand at the sport this Friday at 9am, with the Red Rooster Rumble nine-hole competition.

It is open to anyone, from experienced players to those who are yet to pick up a golf club. Registration is open until the day and people can enter individually.
