Golfers hit off for cancer
DEANNA Schmidt is one of the survivors from cancer and delighted to be involved as the Challenge for Cancer entrant in a golf day for Cancer Council Queensland on Sunday.
“I had a brain tumour 19 years ago and had 10 days in hospital and eight weeks of radium,” Schmidt said.
“I am a survivor and want to help others.
“We hope the golf day goes well, I have had a few hits of golf with my dad Jim Behrmann down the years.”
The golf day is one of her biggest fund raisers for the Challenge for Cancer quest.
The four ball ambrose, timesheet from 7.30am, is sponsored by Rodney Wilkins, of Action Metal Recyclers.
Wilkins said he knew a lot of people who had suffered from cancer and was happy to sponsor the golf day as his first sponsorship in the town.
The cost is $15 for Warwick Golf Club members and $20 for non members.
Bookings at the golf shop on 4661 3664.
