Editorial: Good luck young Angus

NOTHING stirs the emotions like a little battler fighting back under seemingly insurmountable odds.

It helps to have special parents who turn every stone, ask every question and push every boundary - simply because their love and commitment to family won't have it any other way.

We read today of just such a family - one that will pack their desperation, their determination and their faith and climb aboard a flight to Texas in the hope that surgeons can work their magic and give their son a new lease on life.

The Maryvale mum and dad will take Angus off on their flight for life on Saturday carrying hope and fear in equal measure in their hearts.

We wish them all the best in their struggle. We publicly thank the many charitable souls who, without knowing the struggling family, chipped in to make this very costly dream a reality. Government funding helped them get over the line.

Our thoughts and prayers will fly out with them ... may their faith - and clever surgeons' hands - help them turn the tide.
