Goomburra prepares for high tea, jazz
IT'S all happening at the Goomburra Hall, snuggled in to the pristine background of the Goomburra Valley, on Saturday afternoon, July 18, from 2pm.
The sounds of cool, hot or mellow jazz always heralds the beginning of the Jumpers and Jazz in July Festival in the Warwick region, and none more so than in the Goomburra Valley.
Yet again the well-known Natalie de Jager Jazz Band will thrill the audience until 4pm at the Jazz and High Tea function.
Natalie is a singer and songwriter known for her expressive pop vocals and innovative jazz improvisation.
She performs regularly around south-east Queensland at many festivals and venues including Brisbane Jazz Club, Brisbane Music Festival, Queen St Mall, Sofitel Hotel Gold Coast, Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers, Teneriffe Festival, Easterfest and Jumpers and Jazz Festival.
The Goomburra Jazz and High Tea is one of the many amazing events and activities that will be enjoyed by locals and countless visitors to the Warwick region during the upcoming 2015 iconic Warwick Jumpers and Jazz in July festival.
This year the Goomburra Hall committee is celebrating its 12th consecutive Jazz and High Tea and warmly invite people to attend.
Guests are requested to be at the hall at 2pm to be welcomed with a complimentary glass of bubbles as they arrive.
Scotty, the Rag Doll piper, will stand at the entrance to greet guests and fairy lights, vintage tea sets and tiered cake stands will create a great atmosphere inside the 110-year-old wooden hall.
The hall committee and their helpers are busily planning the menu, and believe a high tea should always include more-ish sandwiches, chocolate cake, lemon curd tarts and meringues.
Bookings are essential for this function at 17 Inverramsay Rd, Goomburra, please contact committee members on 46666050 or 0418401220.
