Kings Theatre ready for grand reopening in Warwick
WARWICK residents can look forward to a new and improved Kings Theatre tomorrow after extensive renovations wrapped up last week.
Warwick RSL will celebrate in style with a grand opening tomorrow night.
Warwick RSL administration officer David Burgess said guests could expect a night full of entertainment and fun.
"We're expecting at least 300 people to turn up," he said.
"Guests will see the room fully finished."
If you would like to head along to the grand opening, get in quick as ticket sales close at midday today.
Doors will open at 6pm for guests to enjoy drinks and canapés and a sit down meal, all covered by the ticket price.
Tickets are on sale at $70 for members, $80 for non-members or residents can book a table of eight for $500.
Comedian Denise Drysdale will host the night and perform a comedic skit or two.
Frankie J Holden and Wilbur Wilde will be the entertainment for the night.
Mr Burgess said staff members at the RSL were proud to bring the state-of-the-art room to the community. "I think this function room is something the community needs," he said.
"We've had a lot of good feedback and everyone has been really impressed."
The Kings Theatre has been an extension of the RSL for close to two decades and will now be able to cater for any function and for any budget.
Air-conditioning, an entertainer's dressing room, two projectors, and a new buffet service area and stage are among the improvements to the historic venue.
Dates are filling fast with plenty of locals booking the room for weddings, birthdays and businesses conferences.
"We've got 12 shows booked going through until next year," Mr Burgess said.
Guests who hire the room will also have access to the new bathrooms installed for the Kings Theatre. The RSL will also offer catering packages for any event and charge a per-head price.
Prices cover meals, set-up of the room, cleaning and staff to cater on the day.
