Grapple, kick, punch - it will all happen in 10 MMA fights

MIXED MARTIAL ARTS: A 19-year-old fighter from Logan will face a Brisbane mixed martial arts competitor in one of the fights of the night at WIRAC this Saturday.

Doors open at 5pm Saturday, with 10 fights from 6pm, in the first competition night for the Grow Strong MMA club in Warwick.

Two-time Australian Muaythai champion Jessie Priaulx, from Brisbane, will go up two weight divisions to compete against Logan fighter Sonny Fair Taamaletoa.

"This fight should be a cracker,” Grow Strong MMA trainer Ben Pepper said.

"Both have kick boxing experience.

"Fighters can use grappling, striking, kicking, kneeing and judo throws during the fights.”

The main fight will be between unbeaten Grow Strong MMA member Zane Brassington and Vince Dyer, from Brisbane.

This fight is for a Grow Strong City vs Country title.

Brassington is unbeaten in his three fights, all of which finished in the first round.

There will be three middleweight fights for athletes trained by Ben Pepper at Grow Strong MMA.

Warwick fighter Steven Blows will battle with Travis Collins, from Lismore.

Grow Strong member Dustin Robertson will fight Josh Robson, from Warwick, while Jimmy O'Mara (also from Warwick) will go up against Patrick Hurst, from Ipswich.

Peter Hickmott and Thomas Churchill, who referee all around Australia, will officiate.

Patrons can find out ticket information on the Grow Strong MMA Facebook site.

Table bookings are sold out but general seating area seats are still available.

Standing tickets will be sold on the night and general seating if still available.

Pepper hopes for a crowd of 300-450 at WIRAC on Saturday night.

"We are hoping to hold another fight night in December,” he said.

General tickets $50, standing tickets for $35.
