Grass fire engulfs paddock on Southern Downs
UPDATE 4.20pm: A grass fire at Applethorpe has been brought under control.
The fire reportedly engulfed three acres of land in a paddock but was contained by fire crews by 14.15pm this afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to the scene about 3.18pm.
A spokeswoman from Queensland Fire and Emergency Services said no property was believed to have been damaged in the blaze.
Fire crews remain on the scene.
INITIAL 3.30pm: Three acres of grass has been engulfed by fire in a paddock at Applethorpe.
A fire crew from Applethorpe has just arrived on scene and another crew from Broadwater is currently on their way.
A spokeswoman from Queensland Fire and Emergency Services said it was known whether the blaze was threatening structures.
Fire crews were called to the scene at 3.18pm.
