Grayson helps steer Cowboys to grand final
RUGBY LEAGUE:Jacob Grayson was the best on ground after a strong performance in the front row in the Warwick Cowboys 28-24 win in the second division major semi final.
Warwick will be in the September 2 grand final against the winner of next Sunday's preliminary final between Gatton and Pittsworth.
Coach Scott Fisher said winger Dale Lee played well to score two tries.
"Fullback Aden Howard was the best of the backs in the semis,” he said.
"We controlled the ruck well and then the backs set up the win.
"A lot of the attack was centred around centre Jeb Jerome.”
Fisher said the club would have a training run on Sunday around the same time the grand final will be held the week after.
"The 25 selected last weekend will all get a run in the grand final,” Fisher said.
The Cowboys will have two Thursday night training runs and one Sunday run leading up to the grand final.
"There was a lot of supporters at Glenholme Park for the semi final and hope even more head to Toowoomba on September 2 for a Sunday morning grand final at Glenholme Park,” he said.
The Cowboys went though the semi with only one injury, a dislocated finger to centre and club president David O'Leary.
He played on after dislocating his finger and is a definite starter for the grand final.
Stanthorpe made it into finals during their first season in the TRL since the mid 1980s and went down 28-24 to Pittsworth in the elimination semi final.
