Great feeling to have the Ashes back - Columnist
HOWZAT with Michael Bourke
WHAT a great feeling it is to be an Aussie cricket supporter and see the Australian cricket team regain the Ashes against England.
Test matches are won by the side with the best bowling line-up and the proof shows with Starc, Lyon, Cummins and Hazlewood all taking 20 wickets or more for the series.
What did England learn from losing the Ashes? For a start they need to have some bowlers who can bowl more than 140km/h and a quality spinner.
With their DRS reviews, an English batsman twice advised a teammate not to review an LBW when the batsman had hit the ball and then advised a fellow batter to review an LBW that was plummer than the last plum pudding I had for dessert.
At the end of the day the best side won the Ashes series.
Beautiful Barooga
I HAVE been lucky enough to have spent some time in the Barooga and Cobram region this week and cannot believe how beautifully kept the cricket grounds are.
Maybe its because of the water supply from the nearby Murray River.
