OPINION: Great night for Collegians
THE Collegians Junior Rugby League (1965/1966 U18) held its reunion on May 16 and past players celebrated 50 years of playing rugby league.
Seventeen of the original teams and two wives of deceased players attended.
Four players had other commitments and couldn't attend.
Others attending included Les and Lyn Lane, Leo and Therese Barrett and 1966 A-grade coach John Forde.
The Legends donated presentations to representatives of the current Warwick Cowboys players, as well as two footballs to players in the U12s Collegians Dragons and Suburbs Hornets teams.
These footballs were autographed by all of the Collegian Legends.
A great night was had by all with many photographs taken and many stories told.
