Green Chocolate defeat Breakers

BASKETBALL: Undermanned Breakers went down to Green Chocolate in the basketball grand final for term 1 at WIRAC.

The Green Chocolate team's unbeaten season climaxed with a basketball grand final win.

Dom Cremasco was outstanding with his court work and backed it up with a 20-point game in his team's 70-56 win.

Cremasco plays club basketball in Warwick on a Wednesday night as well as with the Ipswich Force in the state league.

Rob Wagner was strong for the Breakers in attack with a 17-point game but that was not enough as the Green Chocolate team had too big a lead from the first half.

In the game between third and fourth-placed teams in the basketball competition, Warwick Magic beat Hard Work Crew in a close 37-30 contest for bragging rights at the end the season.

Magic had the wood over its opposition in the battle for third spot.

Competition MVP was won by Mitchell Ford, an outstanding achievement with votes coming from opposition team players and game referee votes each week.

WIRAC starts the next basketball competition on April 13 at 6pm.

Registrations close on April 10.

There will be four seasons this year, one per term.
