Greens poised to win NSW border seat
BORDER towns such as Woodenbong, Tenterfield and Liston are set to become the territory of the Greens, after a 24.7% swing to the party in the New South Wales State Election.
While the Coalition declared victory statewide, the border seat of Lismore is among those expected to be lost.
The latest results at the time of print showed a 24.7% swing against sitting MP Thomas George on a two-party preferred basis.
Greens candidate Adam Guise, who was actively involved in a Lismore mining protest known as the Bentley Blockade, has 50.6% of the vote after preferences.
Lismore has been safely held by the National Party since 1988.
